Meet the Staff of the Cat Doctor Feline Medical Center

Pamala Coker, DVM, Ph.D.

Dr. Coker is a 1998 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  In 2002, she earned her Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology.  A feline veterinary practice has been her calling for as long as she can remember.  She has made a few detours along the way such as her Ph.D.  in microbiology and working in laboratory management.

Her diverse background and experience have prepared Dr. Coker very well, for opening her own feline practice.  She has worked as a relief veterinarian for several years which has given her a distinct experience in practice techniques and design.   Her unique experiences have helped to make her dream of a distinctive "cat only" veterinary practice a reality.

Dr. Coker enjoys gardening and remodeling.  She is also an avid SCUBA diver and has dived in many amazing places throughout her travels.  Her most memorable experiences include the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and being surrounded by a school of barracuda in The Gulf of Mexico.  Dr. Coker lives in Highland with her three middle aged girls, "Sissy", "Bessie", and "MiMi Monkeyface.”  Dr. Coker was recently elected the President of the Northwest Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association (NWLVMA). One of her goals is to implement pet education in the classroom for elementary schools. She is also involved in community organizations closer to home, Highland Area Preservation, Krewe of Barkus and Meoux, Krewe of Highland, and Robinson’s Rescue, a low cost spay and neuter program.

Pamela, Office Manager

Pamela is a true animal lover and office manager of The Cat Doctor Feline Medical Center.  She is the proud "pet parent" of six rescued pets, including three spoiled felines named "T-baby", "Rocketman" and "Stormy".  Pamela would probably be considered a veterinary office "veteran" as she has worked in small animal practices for nearly twenty years now.

She is delighted to be here in such welcoming and beautiful surroundings and to be a part of a team of truly caring and compassionate individuals.  Pamela enjoys reading, traveling, live music, comedy and nature.  She also loves spending time with the most adorable baby on the planet, her grandson, Maddox.

Kate W., Veterinary Assistant

Kate is an avid animal lover, and works as a veterinary assistant at The Cat Doctor.  She is currently an English major at Louisiana State University.

She enjoys literature and spending time with family and friends.  She has three cats of her own, Luke, Harvey and Danny.

Alyse H. , Veterinary Assistant / Groomer

Alyse is also a skilled groomer who works hard to keep your pet looking it’s best!  In her spare time she enjoys skydiving and square-dancing.

Gwyn A., Kennel Supervisor

Gwyn's job is to supervise the care and feeding of all of our boarding cats.  She has twelve years experience working for the Bossier shelter and is an avid animal lover with eight cats and two dogs of her own.

She is a mother of four and is expecting her seventh grandchild any day now!  In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and family gatherings.

Jessica W., Front Office Coordinator

Jessica is very excited about being a part of The Cat Doctor family.  She has many loves in her life including her nephews, Alex, Nick and Eric and of course their mom, her sister Sara. Jessica has 3 cats, 4 snakes, 2 ferrets, 3 fish tanks, several turtles and a beautiful flying squirrel. She has loved animals all her life, and when not working, she is a singer and amateur artist.

Crissy, Registered Veterinary Technician

Crissy is a Registered Veterinary Technician and a graduate of La. Tech University with a B.S. in Animal Science.  Her fur family includes 2 dogs, Haylee and Lizzy, 4 cats, Preacher, Sybil, Cain and Tate, and Orson, her paint horse. In her spare time she loves being with her horse on the farm, mud-riding, horror films, novels, photography and shopping for great shoes!

Abigail H., Relief Assistant

Abby works as a relief person, assisting the doctor or as a front office assistant,  helping out wherever we need her! She is a native of Houston, Texas, currently attending Centenary College majoring in accounting. Her furry feline family includes Angel, Addie, Emma and a foster cat Penelope.  When away from work, Abigail enjoys reading, traveling, baking and needlepoint.
