MEET OUR STAFF

Pamala Coker, DVM, Ph.D.
Dr. Coker is a 1998 graduate of
Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2002, she
earned her Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology. A feline veterinary practice
has been her calling for as long as she can remember. She has made a few
detours along the way such as her Ph.D. in microbiology and working in
laboratory management.
Her diverse background and experience have prepared Dr. Coker very well, for
opening her own feline practice. She has worked as a relief veterinarian
for several years which has given her a distinct experience in practice
techniques and design. Her unique experiences have helped to make
her dream of a distinctive "cat only" veterinary practice a reality. Dr.
Coker enjoys gardening and remodeling. She is also an avid SCUBA diver and
has dived in many amazing places throughout her travels. Her most
memorable experiences include the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and being
surrounded by a school of barracuda in The Gulf of Mexico. Dr. Coker lives
in Highland with her three middle aged girls, "Sissy", "Bessie", and "MiMi
Monkeyface.” Dr. Coker was recently elected the President of the Northwest
Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association (NWLVMA). One of her goals is to
implement pet education in the classroom for elementary schools. She is also
involved in community organizations closer to home, Highland Area Preservation,
Krewe of Barkus and Meoux, Krewe of Highland, and Robinson’s Rescue, a low cost
spay and neuter program.
